Somewhere in the Dakotas....
Nicole and Derek went on a road trip to the Dakotas in 2023 and Nicole was fascinated by the amount of honey bee hives on the farms. She started looking into what it took to be a beekeeper, the benefits to us, the environment, the potential uses for honey and beeswax and how it could support their mission to becoming self-sufficient in their personal lives, as well as financially.
The beginning of Nunya Beeswax!
The first two hives were ordered in 2024 and it grew to four the day they were received. THEY'RE AWESOME! We started making personal products from the bees bye product: natural beeswax. Our personal products collection has grown to fit our needs as well as our loved ones. We only use natural, clean chemical free products, and source from local small businesses whenever possible. Raw beeswax is in almost all of our products (not shampoo bars or bug repellent rollers).
Our mission is to bring awareness and help everyone have access to natural, safe, and effective solutions for a healthier, happier and more fulfilled life!
Our first honey flow!
The summer of 2025 was our first year of honey flow and it is hands down one of the coolest thing Nicole has ever done! Getting our first bees last year, taking care of them so they survived the first winter (especially when industry results were very poor this year), and reaping the benefit of all the hard work, FASCINATING!!!
We've received constant good feedback about how great the honey is so that keeps us very motivated to keep growing and validates that we're exactly where we're supposed to be.
